Yeah, hate these products where they have decided that releasing a new improved version automatically means increasing the price. It was far more palatable when the new version cost what the old one did and the old one got discounted.
TENNEE on 18/04/2024 - 08:27
Robotic vacuums are a lucrative business now.
You can buy 9 of "Lubluelu SL68 Robot Vacuum" for this price
(I know the function is not the same, but who can afford this!)

why just $2999? Make it 10k.

Lol - I've logged to make exactly same comment. Why not 10k?

Lol $3k for a vacuum that a $500 robovac does 90% of the job of.

90% is a bit of a stretch.

Lidar plus RGB camera, and mop water heating, this sounds amazing and what some people have been waiting for.
coxjon on 17/04/2024 - 17:07
Is it water heating or just to dry the mop pad after? Surely heater water would make the battery last 5 minutes
Lebofly on 17/04/2024 - 17:35

Nether of these would bump the price up to $3k though
mahdoo on 17/04/2024 - 17:39
uhh these are cloud connected.. A camera on a cloud connected robot vacuum is just a spycam waiting to happen.

Is there a team of pilots driving the robot vac on the other end? Perhaps the high retail price is to help pay their slave wages.

lidar was there in roborock v1, selling for circa $300 max.
what's the extra $2700 about?

I purchased the S8 direct from Roborock and it was a shamzolle. Consistent delays, excuses etc. HN had them on the shelf but Roborock were telling me there was an IT error at the Port Terminals which meant no stock available.
Broos on 17/04/2024 - 18:47
Had a similar experience. Do not buy from Roborock Australia directly. They are a horrible company. I had to do a charge back on my credit card.
andresampras on 17/04/2024 - 17:15
Here's the closest you have to a deal on this thing - 5% off your first order on the Roborock site, if you sign up I believe. I just had a popup

Shaquille Oatmeal on 18/04/2024 - 08:38
Wow !!
If that’s the case I’ll grab 6

I guess the q revo MaxV for $1700 on the jb Hi-Fi commercial website is more appealing.Or the l10s pro ultra. Not sure which is best…
Too bad the price is so high in Australia!! It's cheaper to buy it overseas and have it ship to Australia… Crazy!

Mine arrived today and have to say I'm pretty impressed. Probably a bit early to judge though. $3k seems crazy to describe as a 'bargain' though.

It better be able clean the toilets, load the dishwasher and do my laundry at that price.
Snowfiend on 17/04/2024 - 21:03
10,000 PA suction would be like a fart coming out of your bum. Rubbish pressure!
PhilosophicalTurtle on 17/04/2024 - 21:31
This is too expensive. I might look at Bissell Symphony Pet Steam Mop and Vacuum instead.
conza on 17/04/2024 - 22:34
I mean, if it could traverse stairs, do laundry, clean windows, yeah alright $3k
For a circular robo vac with a mop and a dock… a clever bin… no, mate, no.

I have bought/returned and love a good robo vac. But, at what point does it just not make sense.
The cost is not worth the time impact at all compared to manually doing it and is also not $1k better than other options doing the same.
Also, no one else worried or laughed that they value 1yr of additional warranty at $299!! It comes with one year only. Most cheap vacuums offer 2yrs +. Some 5yrs. 1yr and charging $299 for another year is a rip off. Heck, I could get a points earning credit card with extended warranty insurance (1 yr) with an annual fee less than what they charge, getting me a business class flight to Asia, 2yr warranty and a lot more happiness than Roborock offer haha

It comes with one year only.
I’d venture the ACL could be invoked for a longer warranty period

S5MAX WAS $500.
I JUST CANT IMAGINE HOW A S8MAX IS $3000???
